No one can accept these scenes. They are cruel, appalling and angering. We are sick of funerals that beget more funerals. We are sick of pictures of children’s bodies and civilians lying dead in the street with snipers chasing anyone attempting to get close. We are tired of images of burned homes, half-torn walls and the tears of the bereaved. Syria has a historical significance in the heart of every Arab, and it’s because of this that the Arabs feel that they are bleeding with Syria and dying with it.

Contrary to optimistic predictions of Russia demanding a “price” from the Syrian regime for defending it at the Security Council, embodied in the announcement of “swift reforms”, the visit of Moscow’s Foreign Minister to Damascus in effect gave the signal for the regime’s forces to engage in full military escalation, under the pretext of “putting an end to violence, whatever its source,” in the words of Lavrov himself, in such a way as to allow for implementing the Russian plan that requires forcing the Syrian opposition to accept dialogue without preconditions with Assad.

Killing towards the end and killing afterwards.

The U.S. presidential election year is still in its beginning, but in this case, “you can tell a book from its cover”. I read that Barack Obama will defeat the Republican candidate for President, whether it will be Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich, and that to achieve this, he chose to suck up to the Israel lobby and the Likudnik Americans of every kind. In the meantime, Israel’s supporters will continue to attack him, so that his surrender to a neo-Nazi and racist state will be complete and unconditional, and so that the Americans remain greatly divided about their president.

The Palestinian reconciliation agreement between Fatah and Hamas should be placed in its right context, i.e. in the context of the transformations witnessed in the Arab region.

The fascist government of Israel is waging a war against Iran on U.S. soil, through an organized and well-funded campaign led by the Israel lobby, the neocons and American Likudnik websites, with a view to push the United States into a conflict with a country tens of thousands of kilometers away, a country that has no disputes with America over occupied territories or oil fields. Then a few days ago, the CIA claimed that Iran was behind terrorist attacks abroad, and perhaps even within the U.S. itself.

Nassib Lahoud would have been very proud of the comments, writings, articles and photos that were on display at Saint George Church in downtown Beirut, to his hometown of Baabda. The paraphernalia celebrated the memory of a statesman who was seen by Lebanon's young people as their hope; they described him as the president of the Republic of their dreams.

74 Egyptian youths were killed in football riots unprecedented in Egypt’s history; so how did the youths of the revolution express solidarity with the victims?

Those who are rightfully criticizing the US’s quasi permanent disregard of the international consensus at the Security Council and its use of the veto to protect Israel against the condemnations of its crimes against the Palestinians must really ponder now the deeds of Russia and China, which are using the veto in order to abort an international resolution. This resolution was not necessarily expected to end the tragedy of the Syrians.

The kidnapping of families, assassinations, arbitrary arrests, the slaughtering of children, blood, limbs and corpses of innocent people, genocide and daily massacres, a bloody regime with an appetite for killing, destruction and torture, criminal gangs, death spread on the streets, destruction of homes over the heads of their inhabitants, the besieging of Syrian cities and towns with tanks and aircrafts and a regime committing crimes and murders against the innocent citizens day and night.
